I do stuff, mostly not on the fediverse. <https://ecs.d2evs.net>

@wzqtparor @Meeper I have to do fucking everything in a terminal on my phone cause all the fucking software for android is fucking broken all the fucking time

@kkremitzki yeah, the soic8 chip is 4mb, the soic16 one is 8mb

that's the right chip, make sure you're orienting everything correctly

also note, if you're using a ch341a, the 16 inputs are /not/ soic16, you'll need to rig up some wires from your clip to where you connected the soic8 clip (or find a soic16 to soic8 converter, but i was feeling impatient when i did this and didn't want to wait for shipping)

the datasheet for the soic16 chip is https://p.d2evs.net/2377294810.pdf, see page 7 for the pinouts - match the pins from the 16-pin sop pinout on the clip to the pins from the 8-pin sop pinout on the programmer, and make sure to test all 4 possible combinations of clip orientation and programmer/clip orientation

this is what my soic16 flashing setup looked like: https://p.d2evs.net/3024924554.jpg

@kkremitzki o/ from my corebooted optiplex 9010

things i wish someone else had told me, hopefully they'll be useful to you:
- make sure to have both a soic8 and a soic16 clip on you, though you'll only need one programmer (use something like head -c$(bits in 8mb) and tail -c$(bits in 4mb) to split the flash)
- my .config: https://p.d2evs.net/3863135003.txt
- the password jumper can be moved to the maintenance mode jumper to do an internal flash with stock bios, but don't do this unless you're certain you can flash externally

good luck!

fuckings to ports 80 and 443

@minus @sir ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ installing pleroma on my alpine box took a grand total of like an hour, most of which was spent doing other stuff while pleroma compiled

@minus @sir pleroma has been fairly painless to host

@sir hiking good

now presenting: worst bad apple render

code behind it: https://git.d2evs.net/~ecs/scrapple

@sir please tell me this is a joke

good writing is good, more good writing is more good

@sir @zethra mine hasn't, mostly because i haven't (yet) found any bugs to fix ^^

if someone so much as mentions the number 754 in my presence, i cannot be held accountable for what will happen to them

@sir > implying that there's beer in my fridge and a tv in my house

The International Orthodox C Coding Conventions (ioccc.org) are a great resource for new programmers

@glenda @sir i built it successfully on 512mb of ram, just set up some swap

@sir why're you building go on taiga rather than cirno?

@sir my site has been gemini-native (with kineto for http access) for a while: gemini://ecs.d2evs.net

why does everyone think that zoom OOM is the only software of it’s class, or that it’s impossible to change to something else. this one piece of software has been the worst thing about my lockdown expierience.
